Recognition is what you pay for with Rome's best-known tailoring name, and it shows in what sellers ask relative to makers of comparable quality. Older pieces cut noticeably fuller through the chest and shoulder, so buy from the measurements rather than the label size.

Naples again, with a soft shoulder and a house style that photographs well, and the marketing push of the last decade has priced that in. Take one when the cut genuinely suits you; the signature adds nothing to how the jacket wears.

The making is not the problem: this is among the most hand-worked tailoring coming out of Naples. The problem is that the people shopping secondhand know it too, so asks stay close enough to original retail that the per-dollar argument collapses.
