IT 40 is a US women's size 4, equivalent to a Small. It also corresponds to EU 36, UK 8, and FR 36. This is one of the most common sizes in Italian luxury women's wear.
IT 42 is a US women's size 6, or Medium. It corresponds to EU 38, UK 10, and FR 38. This is the most commonly listed size in secondhand Italian luxury women's clothing.
IT 44 is a US women's size 8, or Large. It corresponds to EU 40, UK 12, and FR 40.
